Lunch Time in Norcross

Monday through Friday is a grind when you are in sales. Every week could potentially make or break your year. When I have a stressful first half of the day at work, I like to unwind at lunch with my friends. My coworkers and I have come to be regulars at a few places around our office in the Norcross area. Keep reading to learn more about the best places in Norcross, my thoughts, and most importantly, what I recommend you order.

Mazzy’s

Mazzy’s is a sports bar tucked away in Norcross. My go to order here is 10 chicken wings - 5 hot buffalo, 5 garlic parmesan. The wings here come with celery and either blue cheese or ranch. Keep in mind that fries are extra and don’t come with the wings. Despite the delicious food, that’s not what makes this place a great work getaway. Mazzy’s has at least 25 TV’s constantly playing sports, 5 or so pool tables that you can play on for free (if you order food), and dart boards. Essentially, Mazzy’s is a great place to get a burger or wings, beer, and play pool with friends.

Moe’s Southwest Grill

Moe’s Southwest Grill is a great spot to grab a burrito. I know, I know - there are Moe’s all over the Atlanta area, but what makes this a great lunch spot during the work day is that you can be in and out in about 30 minutes. When you are next in line an employee will ask you what you want, and my answer is normally -  “A burrito please”. Next the employee will ask if you want rice or beans, to which I normally decline, and here is why: I view rice and beans as filler foods, and what I’m really after is steak. I feel that If I decline the rice and beans, the worker feels obligated to increase the amount of steak to a respectable amount. All that empty tortilla with no rice or beans deserves a hearty scoop of steak, right? #LifeHack. Next is the vegetables, I normally go with lettuce, black olives, pico de gallo, fresh jalapenos, and raw onions. Finally, I have them finish it off with a dab of chipotle southwest sauce and a squirt of hot sauce. This is my go-to Moe’s order and I highly recommend it.

Magnolia’s Bakery

Magnolia’s Bakery holds a special place in my heart. I love eating breakfast for lunch and this place is superior to the infamous Waffle House or Ihop at cooking breakfast. The move here is to get the Breakfast Special. You’ll get 2 eggs (prepared your style of choice), breakfast potatoes, choice of meat (bacon or sausage) and choice of bread (toast, bagel, croissant). I get the breakfast special with egg whites scrambled, bacon, potatoes, and whole wheat toast. If you want a lunch sandwich or salad, Magnolia’s has you covered as well. I have had a great Italian sandwich here as well as a tasty salad with grilled chicken on top. Whether you want breakfast for lunch or lunch for lunch, Magnolias is a great spot. 10/10 recommend.

Pita Street Food

Pita Street Food is another great lunch spot. Monday is the best day of the week to go to Pita because of the 5-dollar lunch special. 5-dollar lunches are hard to find in today’s world, but Pita has a got you covered. The 5-dollar special is a gyro and choice of side for 5 dollars. Sometimes I will get my gyro with fries and other times I go with the mixed vegetables (predominantly, zucchini and carrots). It’s hard to bring your own lunch from home for under 5 dollars, and with Pita Street Food’s 5-dollar lunch on Mondays, I will always let them do the cooking.

The above four are my favorite lunch spots but there are a few more where you will find my coworkers and I:

  • Three Dollar Café

  • Panda Express

  • Manhattan’s

  • Buffalo Wild Wings

There are a ton of places to eat in the Norcross area and I’m grateful to work at a great company with so many delicious lunch spots around town. If food is as important to you as it is for me, ReluTech is a great place to work.
