About The Company:

This telecommunications company is a next-generation collaborative social streaming platform that enables users to watch, chat, and interact with content together in real time—regardless of location. Focused on both enterprise and consumer applications, the company has been used in higher education, entertainment, and virtual events to drive deeper digital engagement. As a growing technology company headquartered in the United States, the company is scaling its infrastructure and cloud capabilities to support increased platform demand and expand into new verticals.

The Challenge

This customer was under tight deadlines to launch a cross-platform mobile application built on the Amazon Chime SDK, designed to enable synchronized session participation and audio/video recording through a custom integration. The application required a highly specialized C++ engineer capable of leveraging both the front and back cameras on iOS devices while ensuring compatibility with a third-party control API. The project was fully funded by AWS, including architectural support and pricing calculations. The customer only required one technical resource to complete the project and not a whole technical team.

As development progressed, the company’s internal team faced critical roadblocks with the signaling and recording implementation, which delayed their go-to- market timeline despite already having paying subscribers. The situation became urgent when their initial C++ resource failed to resolve core integration issues, putting the AWS-funded project—and the customer’s product timeline—at risk.

The Solution

Recognizing the opportunity to drive increased AWS service consumption through the company’s mobile platform, AWS agreed to fund a technical resource to accelerate development. ReluTech stepped in to provide that resource—a skilled C++ engineer with experience building mobile apps using the Amazon Chime SDK and camera APIs.

Unlike typical engagements where only scoping or partial delivery occurs, ReluTech’s expert not only outlined the technical scope and timeline but also executed the full development work, resolving the issues that had previously stalled progress. The engagement was structured to be completed within 7 weeks, aligning to the customer’s urgent product roadmap. As a result, the company was able to move forward with their launch and unlock new AWS consumption tied to Chime SDK, storage, and compute services.

The Result

The opportunity was initiated through a referral from the AWS ISV Greenfield representative, who brought the customer’s technical needs to ReluTech after identifying a gap in their ability to execute on an AWS-funded project. Recognizing the time-sensitive nature of the engagement and the potential to drive net-new AWS consumption, ReluTech moved quickly to qualify the opportunity and source a highly skilled C++ engineer with deep experience in Chime SDK and mobile camera integration.

ReluTech’s rapid response and ability to provide a single resource who could scope, manage, and fully deliver the technical solution offered a streamlined alternative that helped the customer move faster than a typical multi-party engagement. Our collaboration with the AWS team—who handled architectural planning and cost modeling—ensured alignment on project milestones and success metrics. Ultimately, our agility, technical fit, and AWS- aligned approach positioned the customer for a successful product launch.
